Kimberlyn's was baptized in Hemet at our Stake Center at about 6:30 in the evening. The picture in white by herself was taken by herself. I thought it was pretty cute. The picture by herself was taken for her pre-baptism picture and information about herself and her testimony was in the program on individual papers. In the whole stake there where 5 children baptized that night. Mike and Kimberlyn's picture before the baptism. Grandpa and Grandma Meredith came. We also had our home teacher come...Bro. Bob Groves and his wife. Kimberlyn's friend Zoye came she is going to get baptized next month.
They were all going on a mission. They were dropped off at the chapel for goodbyes. But before we were able to take a picture pretending to point where they might be going. They had a great time learning about different countries and states where missionaries went to.
Jessica is officially a teenager! She tried to make 13 with her hands but the picture made it look like 31. School is almost over and she will be in her last year of middle school. She is growing up to fast! She almost blew out all thirteen candles. Happy Birthday Jess!
The kids are required to do a project every year. It is a major part of there grade at the end of the year. We are able to see the projects at the kids Open House along with everyone
else's in their classes. Jessica, being in Middle School grade, I wasn't able to see any of what she did because they do most of it at school. She did hers on two different types of birds. One from the Tundra (Snowy Owl)and one from the
Rainforest(
Replentant Qustzel). She
compared and contrast and
wanted to learn about the different types of birds. She also had to talk about her display for the 2 hours at the open house for part of grade.
Kimberlyn choose to do the Roadrunner. She had to pick an animal that lived in the desert of California. They had to write a report and make a 3 dimensional of there project environment.
Kimberlyn can finally go across the bars without falling, yeah!....Erin is pretending to be selling something???......Kimberlyn and Erin pretending to be in jail...Ehhh!.....Erin is growling, she is pretending to be a lion!

Everyone had a great time at Legoland. Here are a few photos of the day. Mike was not able to be with Kimberlyn on her birthday on May 17, 2008, so we went to Camp Emerson in Idyllwild. We had a blast! It was like camping for the day. We were able to see what the Scouts were doing and we walked around. Her Uncle Greg also came up.
Jessica received her bronze award for making a quilt and doing other service for this project. Not many girls get this award. She did months of work. Congrads! This was back in Feb 2008 about 6pm in the evening.
Starting off.....
The first pictures that I have to share our from our trek back in August of 2006. I know if was a while ago, but an experience that I will never forget. We were there for a week. I went on the cooking commitee. We prepared meals for be breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on the road for the youth. We had over 400 youth and leaders and that isn't counting us (food committee), equipment committee (Mike was on), and first aid specials. I was up at 4am helping with a bunch of us to get breakfast on by 6am so that the youth could be on the trek by 7am. We would take turns making breakfast, lunch and snacks for the youth. They had to have there lunches with them and snacks needed to be ready when the time for delievery was needed. When everyone was done with breakfast, the BIG CLEAN UP and pack away so that we could get to our next destination before dinner so that we could set up and cook before the youth arrived from there 16 miles of walking all day long. Somewhere we still needed to find time for us to eat too! If we were lucky we were to bed by 10 to 11pm at night. Not much sleep, but I don't remember much of that. We did get a chance around 12noon to 2pm to explore a little. The first day we were all able to go on a special hike up above the Sweetwater River, to Martins Cove. We heard stories of how the pioneers lived and struggled through these times. It was a beautiful, humid day and I am glad I had the chance to be with Mike that day. We didn't get to see much of each other except for meals and bed time.
Mike as I said before was on the equipment committee. He was up around 5:30 to get everyones gear put on the trucks and moved to the next location. Remember that was for over 400 youth and leaders. So there was tents, sleeping bags, pails(each persons supplies), and also to help with awnings and some kitchen equipment too.
I remember one night that the youth had a fireside where they did square dancing. It was awesome to see! 400 youth and leaders dancing around. I remember them practicing weeks before in my own ward. I wish I had my journal to write more but I have it packed away. I will make comments on pictures that I add. It was a wonderful week!
